Historical Value

Time Gallery

The colonnaded verandah of the main building is designed as an exhibition area, introducing the background and history of the establishment of the welfare centre in chronological order, and the influence and contribution of the Ho Tung family to the Kwu Tung community.

Lady Ho Tung Memorial Garden

Some crop varieties that Lady Ho Tung once cultivated at the Tung Ying Hok Pok are planted, and information boards are added to commemorate Lady Ho Tung's contribution to agriculture in the New Territories.

Kwu Tung Ancestor‧Welfare Centre History Exhibition

The exhibition will display historical data and photos from the establishment to the end of the centre. It also reflects the centre’s social value and collective memories in the form of humanistic records. We plan to visit nearby villages (Kam Tsin, Kwu Tung, and Ho Sheung Heung) to find and interview villagers who were born or received medical treatment in the centre, and record stories related to it. The results of the interviews (text, photos, or videos) will be displayed in the exhibition hall.

Tour Route

The organisation has designed two tour routes to introduce the institute. Information boards are set up along the routes to introduce the layout and the value of the welfare centre, emphasizing the preserved architecture. Visitors can scan the QR code on the boards with their mobile phones to get more information.
